Artist Statement

The Philippine tarsier, known locally as mawumag in Cebuano and other Visayan languages, and magĂ´ in Waray, is a species of tarsier endemic to the Philippines. It is found in the southeastern part of the archipelago, particularly on the islands of Bohol, Samar and Leyte.

Philippine tarsiers are primatily insectivorous. They eat insects, spiders, lizards, and small vertebrate animals such as birds. Upon seizing its prey, a tarsier carries it in its mouth and using both hands.
Tatsier is known as smallest living primate on earth.
