Artist Statement

While I was painting the sunflowers, Russia invaded the Ukraine, where I spent a volunteer assignment in 2004.

Knowing that the sunflower is the national flower of the Ukraine, the title ” I cry for you, Ukraine”, just came to me and in my heart I dedicated the painting to the Ukrainian people.
