Immersing myself in nature is very healing for me. It’s where I find inspiration for my art and where I go to ground myself. Art, specifically painting you can express different views of what is seen. Art is also a way for me to escape, to use my imagination and create something different. In this painting the trees are distorted. The photograph as a whole shows both distortion of an object and the way it is meant to grow naturally. Now imagine the sound of the river flowing, the birds singing above in the trees. The smell of new flowers and foliage. The warmth of the sun moments ago and now the coolness in the air with the sun behind the clouds. Off in the distance, a train approaching.
