“Body Works” arose out of a research study I have been invested in over the last year. Several of my immediate family are first responders in the R.C.M.P and have been coping with various levels of stress, trauma, and PTSD. In order to be of some help and to educate myself I have been reading about how the body keeps the score of trauma in various ways. I have been encouraged to discover that there are many new therapies, helps and remedies which seem non-invasive and not necessarily revisiting the trauma. This piece speaks of the way trauma is anchored in the body causing inflammation, numbing and physical distress. My artwork follows whatever I am invested in and this piece just arrived one day as I was experimenting.
