2023 Open Sky Artist in Residence
Submission Guidelines
The Open Sky Artist in Residence program supports any visual artist residing in the Peace River Regional District or the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality.
The successful applicant will gain experience installing and curating an exhibition and will be provided with studio space within the Open Sky Exhibition, held at the Tamarack Hall in the Chetwynd Rec Centre in Chetwynd, BC. The Artist in Residence is a representative of Arts North East (Peace Liard Regional Arts Council) and is responsible for welcoming visitors and monitoring the security of the exhibition

OS AIR Program provides the Artist with:
Subsistence fee of $1,200 for a working period of June 12th to the 16th and June 19th to the 22nd from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Studio space in the Chetwynd Rec Centre’s Tamarack Hall, as well as a display area during Open Sky

The Artist may not use materials that cause dust or fumes in Tamarack Hall.
Artist must reside in the Peace River Regional District or the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality.
The Artist must be a member of Arts North East (Peace Liard Regional Arts Council).
Artist must be on site at the Chetwynd Rec Centre in the Tamarack Hall from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday from June 12th to June 22nd, and must be available for four hours on June 7th, and June 23rd to assist with installing and taking down the exhibition.
The artist must be comfortable interacting with visitors.
Application Guidelines:
Curriculum Vitae (maximum three pages)
Artist Bio and Statement (150 words maximum for each)
Description of proposed work (150 words maximum)
3 to 5 images (a maximum of 1 MB file size each, jpeg format with a resolution of 72dpi at 1024 x 768 pixels) of recent work. Images must be labeled with a number_title_lastname (example: 01_Nemo_Smith).
Image List with image numbers, artist name, title of work and date, medium and dimensions
